Saturday, March 23, 2019, 12 – 7pm

ARTS at King Street Station will be a dynamic space for arts and culture in the heart of the city, dedicated to increasing opportunities for communities of color to present work. Join us for our Grand Opening!

Please RSVP here. FREE and open to the public.

In recognition of the Coast Salish peoples on whose land the City of Seattle is built, we are honored to open ARTS at King Street Station, with yəhaw̓, an indigenous-centered inaugural exhibition that will run March 23 – August 3, 2019.

yәhaw̓ is a year-long Indigenous community-based project culminating in the inaugural exhibition at ARTS at King Street Station. The exhibition is accompanied by a mentorship training cohort, satellite shows, residencies, vendor opportunities and partner programs. yәhaw̓ will feature the work of 200+ Indigenous creatives at over 20 sites across Seattle and beyond.

Curated by Tracy Rector (Choctaw/Seminole), Asia Tail (Cherokee), and Satpreet Kahlon, yәhaw̓ celebrates the depth and diversity of Indigenous art made in the Pacific Northwest. Learn more at yehawshow.com.

This opening celebration will have performances, song, and storytelling all day. Join us!

The title yəhaw̓, is drawn from the Coast Salish story of Native people from all tribes uniting around a common cause and lifting up the sky together.
